Apoka Safari Lodge
Apoka safari lodge is located in Kidepo national park with expansive grassy plains that are dotted with the rocky outcrops and flanked by steep jagged mountains. A perfect triangular conical mountain rises out of the Sudanese soil in the north and the great east African rift valley to the east were the western part of the great valley lies looking down into Kenyans Turkana country. Dry river beds zig zag across the park, fringed with borassus and sausage trees with Tracts of forest also featuring in this park. Its takes one about 9 hours from Kampala city to Apoka safari lodge that’s strategically situated in the national park for travelers who prefer to stay far from the city as possible.

This wilderness lodge is made up of 10 separate cottages with natural canvas walls surrounding a rocky kopje with endless savanna view by local craftsmen who had an aim of comfort in mind while at work. Huge hand hewn beds with soft duvets are draped with mosquito nets, extra large plush towels, hand woven woolen carpets, oversized dressing gowns with verandas for relaxing and enjoying sceneries. Each room has its own en-suite bathroom with double sink and large tropical shower with water heated by solar power and there is plenty and an outdoor stone bathtub, big enough to fit the whole family.
Activities
While at this lodge, one can enjoy the Karamajong cultural dancers, game drives in Kidepo National Park and enjoy wildlife like leopards, lions, cheetahs and giraffes plus many more, picnic plus private dinners, walking safaris, birding, walks to the locals and community tours to the Karamojong manyattas.
